Privacy policy
Effective 29 October 2026
In short. We keep what the board needs: your cases, your votes and a nickname if you choose one. We get your email only if you sign in with Google for the prize, and we never show it. We count visits without storing your network address, and we do not sell your data.
In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are set only if you allow them.
1. Who we are
The Intents board at https://intents.trymirai.com/ is run by Mirai Tech, Inc. (“Mirai Labs”, “we”), 111 Pier Avenue, Ste 100, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, USA, which decides how the data described here is used. Write to contact@trymirai.com about anything in this policy. Our other products are covered by the policies on trymirai.com.
2. What we collect
- What you post: the text of your case, whether you typed or dictated it, the language you picked and when you posted. Cases are public.
- Your nickname, if you set one. It is shown next to your cases.
- Votes and reports. Vote counts are public; who voted is not.
- If you sign in with Google (optional, for a prize): the email address and the account ID of your Google account. We never show them on the board. Google also sends your name; we do not keep it.
- A random key in your browser. When you first post, vote or use the mic, the board saves a random key in your browser’s storage, so it can recognise your cases and votes. We keep only a one-way hash of it.
- Your voice, briefly. When you dictate, your recording goes in short pieces to a speech-to-text service and comes back as text you can edit before posting. We do not keep the audio. Where that service is not available, your browser’s own speech recognition is used, under its maker’s terms. We count how many pieces each person dictates a day, to stay within limits.
- Visits: the pages you open on the board, taps on the mic, shares and opened case links, together with the campaign tags in the link you came from (
utm_…), the referring website (its domain only) and whether you use a phone or a computer. - Your network address (IP) is not stored. We keep two one-way hashes made from it. One also includes your browser type and a key that changes every day and is deleted the next day: it counts a visitor once a day without letting anyone follow them from day to day. The other uses a fixed secret key and lets us limit spam and fake votes coming from one network.
3. Why we use it
- To run the board: showing cases and votes, keeping your cases under “Mine” and letting you delete them.
- To keep it clean and fair: an automatic check and our team review posts, and limits per person and per network catch spam and fake votes.
- To run a prize: to find and contact the winner.
- To learn which links and ads bring visitors, so we know where to advertise.
- To build our products: we read the cases, and may use and quote them to research, build, train and test our assistant and AI models, as the terms describe.
If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland: we rely on our legitimate interests in running a safe, fair board and in building our products; on the terms for a prize; and on your consent for analytics cookies. We do not sell your personal data or share it for targeted advertising. The automatic check only sorts posts for the board, and a person can look at every one of its decisions.
4. Who processes it for us
- Google Cloud hosts the board and its database in the United States.
- Anthropic (its Claude model) reads the text of new cases and their nicknames to spot ads, abuse and junk, and to summarise cases for our team.
- OpenAI turns dictation into text.
- Google provides “Sign in with Google” and Google Analytics.
They handle the data on our behalf under their agreements with us and their own policies. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect people or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
5. Cookies and browser storage
- The board itself sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s storage for the random key, your unsent draft, your dictation language and your cookie choice.
- Google Analytics sets cookies (
_ga…) to count visits and see which links bring them, with its advertising features off. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they are set only after you choose “Allow”. Anyone can change the choice under “Cookie settings” in “Rules and questions” on the board; “Decline” also deletes them. - Google’s sign-in button may keep a small cookie of its own to remember its state.
6. How long we keep it
- Cases, nicknames and votes: while the board runs and as long as we need them for the purposes above. A case you delete is removed at once, with its votes.
- Your Google email: until you ask us to delete it, or until we close the board and have settled any prize.
- Visit records contain no network address and no cookie ID, and the daily key behind the visitor hash is deleted the next day.
- Our service providers keep data under their own retention terms.
7. Your choices and rights
- On the board you can delete your cases under “Mine”, change your nickname, sign out and change your cookie choice.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it, by writing to contact@trymirai.com. The board has no passwords, so tell us your nickname, the email you signed in with or the case in question; we may ask you to confirm from the same browser or email.
- In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you also have the rights to restrict our use and to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your data protection authority.
- In California and other US states with privacy laws, you have the right to know, correct and delete your personal information. We do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
8. Where data is processed
The board and its service providers process data in the United States. When data from the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland is transferred there, we use the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Children
The board is not meant for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has posted on it, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Security
Connections to the board are encrypted, the moderation tools are open only to our team, and we store only hashes of the browser keys and network addresses. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep private details out of your cases.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The new version will appear here with a new date, and we will say so on the board when a change is significant.
